With Veterans Day quickly approaching, you may be wondering which day your bank is closed because the holiday falls on a Sunday this year. Veterans Day is a holiday recognized by the U.S. Federal Reserve System, so all banks are closed.
This year, since Veterans Day lands on a Sunday, most banks will be closed on Monday, November 12th as well. This is the next business day after the holiday and the date banks will observe Veterans Day.
If you have emergency banking that needs done in person that Monday, it is a good idea to call ahead to check with your local branch, which will likely be closed.
A better option is to check the smaller branches located within some grocery stores or large supermarkets. These branches are often open on days when main standalone branches are closed, at least for part of the day. Again, call ahead so you do not waste a trip.
Alternatively, you can try to take care of your banking needs on Veterans Day through your bank’s website, mobile app, or at an ATM.
