Banks Open on Saturday (2023)

With advances in financial technology, we’ve become more and more independent of traditional brick-and-mortar branches. Bank websites and mobile banking apps allow us to do many transactions with ease. All without ever stepping into a bank branch.

That being said, there will likely always be a need for physical branch locations, more specifically, banks that are open on Saturdays.

If you are car shopping or purchasing a big-ticket item, you may need access to wires, cashier checks, or money orders. You may also need to open or close an account, make a deposit or withdrawal of thousands of dollars, access a safe deposit box, or ask for financial advice. In these cases, ATMs, online banking websites, and iphone/android apps will not be an option. You will need to visit a physical bank branch.

Depending on your location, it can be difficult to make the trip to a branch during weekdays. On weekdays, banks generally open at 9am in the morning and close at 6pm in the evening. You may work during these weekday bank hours, and very few banks are open on Sunday, which means Saturday is your only option.

Luckily, many of the major financial institutions have branches which are open on Saturdays. What time do banks close on Saturday? You’ll likely see standalone locations open until noon or 1pm, with in-store branches (inside grocery stores and supermarkets) typically being open a couple hours later.

Below is a list of banks that are open on Saturday, ranked by their geographical branch count. We list each bank’s Saturday hours for most, but not all, branches. What Happens if Saturday Is a Holiday?

If a holiday lands on a Saturday, the above bank hours do not apply. Bank branches that are normally open on Saturdays will likely be closed for the Saturday holiday.

In 2023, the only bank holiday that falls on a Saturday is Veterans Day on November 11th.

In addition to the Veterans Day holiday, New Year’s Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, and Christmas can also be on a Saturday.

Is Saturday a Business Day for Banks?

No, Saturday is not considered a business day for banks. This is true even if the bank is open. Transactions such as deposits, bill pay, and wire transfers will not post to your account or credit to another account until the next business day (Monday, unless a holiday).

What If There Are No Banks Open on Saturday Near Me?

If your bank is not open on Saturday, advancements in financial technology have made it easy to withdraw specific denominations from ATM’s, transfer funds between accounts, as well as apply for loans all from your cellphone or computer. Keep in mind that loan applications will likely be reviewed on Monday, and all deposits made will process on the next business day. While this may not be an ideal situation, it gives you peace of mind knowing you can retrieve your money at any time. Keep in mind that each bank has daily withdrawal limits via ATM machines.
