Oregon grew at 5.8% last year, good for second fastest in the country. Some of the same qualities that help California help Oregon. Those include investment in high-tech, strong educational attainment, a diverse economy and immigrants from around the world, especially Asia. Oregon is headquarter’s of Nike, which produces a huge amount of exports. It is also home to a number of high-tech companies, especially in the areas of hardware, servers and data centers. These are hosted mostly in the regional hub of Portland. Lastly, Oregon has a strong agricultural sector that exports crops to Asia and sells domestically as well.
