Halloween, the holiday of costumes, trick-or-treating, jack-o’-lanterns, and parties, takes place on the 31st of October every year. Although it’s a fun day, it is not a federal banking holiday in the United States.
Whether or not banks are open on Halloween depends on which day of the week Halloween lands on.
If Halloween takes place on a Sunday then all banks, except for some in-store locations, will be closed. Otherwise, a bank’s normal hours will be adhered to.
Most banks will also be closed on Halloween if it takes place on a Saturday.
If you are unsure if your bank branch will be open, call in advance to verify their hours.
